Sgt. Brad Hazelett
Brad Hazelett served 14 years as an infantryman in the Marine Corps and Army National Guard. As an active duty Marine, Brad saw combat as a fire team leader in Desert Storm. In the Minnesota National Guard, Brad was a platoon sergeant and served as a Master Gunner. His duties as the Master Gunner included teaching soldiers all facets of marksmanship and gunfighting (with the inclusion of red dot sights and night vision optics) to increase battlefield lethality. Brad attended the Army National Guard Scout Sniper School in Arkansas and returned to the school as an instructor.
Sgt. Hazelett has been a Saint Paul police officer for the past 13 years where he spent 6 years on patrol and the last 7 years in street level narcotics. He is an instructor on the SPPD SWAT team and a SWAT sniper. He is a certified Glock and Colt AR15 / M16 armorer. Brad has executed over 400 narcotics and weapons search warrants. He was awarded the department’s “Top Gun” in 2007. He is an active instructor in Use of Force, Firearms, Active Shooter, and Officer Survival for the Saint Paul Police Department.
Brad has been a lead instructor for A&S for the past 10 years. He is a regular instructor and teaches all aspects of firearms to include; pistol, carbine, shotgun, subgun, and precision rifle. Brad is a certified Rappel Master and a Less Lethal / Chemical Munitions instructor. He also instructs courses in Tactical Operations in Rural Terrain, Basic and Advanced Scout Sniper, Basic and Advanced SWAT, Patrol Rifle / Carbine Instructor, Shotgun Instructor, and Shoothouse Instructor.
